Hi. I’ve had a REALLY shi**y day (if you’ll pardon my French).
What started out as a nice positive development in my business has turned into a nightmare that has (almost) caused me sleepless nights.
Basically, a couple of weeks ago I noticed a steady stream of sales — across many different products — that were all being referred by the same affiliate.
“Terrific”, I thought, “an affiliate who’s actively promoting my products — what could be better?”
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.
Slowly the problems started happening…
A PayPal dispute. A PayPal inquiry. A Chargeback. Another dispute. Another inquiry. Another chargeback…
It started off pretty slowly at first and I thought I would just ‘play it by ear’ and see how it pans out. I froze the affiliate’s account and tried contacting him to see if he could offer some enlightenment as to what was happening.
No reply, of course.
Anyway, in the past few days the number of problems started to accelerate and I decided I had to bite the bullet. (Sorry for all the clichès.)
You see, it’s a well-known fact that PayPal can shut down people’s accounts for the smallest of reasons. And with all these problems accumulating, I was getting afraid that my account would be flagged for suspicious activity or something.
That’s the LAST thing I need.
So, I did what I had to do in order to prevent any further problems on PayPal — I refunded every single order referred by that basta…, um, I mean affiliate.
It hurt. Really hurt. Not quite toothache hurt. More of a thumping, throbbing headache kind of hurt.
Over two hours issuing refunds — nearly $800 in all — without even being sure if some of those people wanted to be refunded…
Oh well.
I’ve been at this game long enough to realize that you’ll have bad days — and you get over them quickly enough. It’s just part and parcel of running any kind of business.
At least now I can put the whole thing behind me and stop worrying about my PayPal account being frozen.
BUT…
I’ve still got a family to feed. AND that $800 would have come in handy when all 6 of us hop on the ‘plane for our annual visit home to Ireland next month. (I’m not one of
those 20-thousand-a-day gurus, you know — at least, not yet…)
SO…
In order to raise my spirits — and the family finances — I’ve decided to run a one-off special offer on my Total Resale Package.
The Total Resale Package, as you might know, has been on the go now since the beginning of the decade and continues to sell strongly (while countlesss other resale rights packages have come and gone).
On top of that, I’m working on a complete overhaul of the package that will help keep it to the forefront of reseller packages. (And, of course, anyone who owns the package will get the new version for free.)
Anyway, the special offer will be available for 48 hours, so if you’ve been tempted to order the package already — or if you’re just looking for a nice product to sell — now is the time to act because you’ll save over 60% off the normal price.
Now, I don’t expect to make $800 from this sale, but at least it will go SOME way towards it. And, at any rate, the best way to react to a negative is to find a way to turn it into a positive, wouldn’t you agree?
Okay, I’ve rambled on long enough. Please take a few minutes to check out the Total Resale Package to see if it’s right for you.

To finish off I’d just like to re-emphasize the importance of not letting those occasional bad days get you down. They’re bound to happen — and you WILL get over them. Write about your experiences in your blog/ezine (it’s very therapeutic) and then find a way to turn the negative into a positive.
All the best,
Michael
